History and Milestones

  • 1981

    MCA initiated the formation of KOJADI to implement the Higher Education Loan Scheme.

    Inaugural Annual General Meeting on 12 March 1981 to form KOJADI.

    Datuk Choo Ching Hwa was appointed the first Chairman of the Board of KOJADI. 

  • 1982

    Introduction of 1982 to 1985 Special Education Loan Scheme.

  • 1983

    First Annual General Meeting of Delegates.

  • 1991

    Implementation of Vocational Education Loan Scheme.

  • 1993

    Launching of Special Education Loan Scheme.  

  • 1998

    KOJADI was the first among 3,800 co-operatives in Malaysia to receive the ISO 9001 Certification.

  • 2010

    Implementation of KOJADI Members’ Benevolence Scheme (KMBS).

  • 2012

    Launch of Loan Scheme for Small Retailers Transformation (TUKAR) and Automotive Workshop Modernization (ATOM) Programme. 

    Launch of 1MCA Micro Credit Scheme for Youth and 1MCA Education Loan Scheme.

  • 2015

    Rated as 5-Star Co-operative by Suruhanjaya Koperasi Malaysia (SKM). Agreement signed between KOJADI and the Ministry of Finance to provide soft loan for KOJADI to implement “KOJADI SME Loan Scheme for Chinese”.

  • 2024

    Launch of Repackaged KOJADI SME Loan Scheme.

1981

  • Registered under the Malaysian Cooperative Commission based on the cop-operative societies Act 1993
  • MCA initiated the formation of KOJADI to implement the Higher Education Loan Scheme.

  • Membership is open to qualified Malaysians
  • Grant education loans to students pursuing local and overseas studies

2012

  • Rated as 5-Star Co-operative by Suruhanjaya Koperasi Malaysia (SKM).

2015

  • Rated as 5-Star Co-operative by Suruhanjaya Koperasi Malaysia (SKM).

  • Grant Small Medium Enterprise Loan for business enterprise.
  • Grant Micro Small Medium Enterprise for businesses.

2016

  • Implementation of KOJADI Business Loan Scheme.

2022

  • Has a membership of 58,300 in Malaysia
  • Ranked among Top 100 Best Cooperatives in Malaysia
  • Grant Micro Small Medium Enterprise Loan for Micro small medium business enterprise

2024

  • Implementation of KOJADI Mortgage Loan Scheme.
  • Launch of Repackaged KOJADI SME Loan Scheme.
